Sai Kung town is a New Territories East harbour town. Not a gated attraction — a place that buys vegetables, runs boats, and eats. From here you connect toward Pak Tam Chung and High Island East Dam.
How to go
- MTR Diamond Hill (Kwun Tong / Tuen Ma), then a bus. 92 and 1A-type services run to Sai Kung — confirm in 1933 that day.
- Green minibuses also run out. HKeMobility beats Google here.
- Weekend return queues stretch. Watch the app for the next trip instead of staring at the terminus.
Once you are there
- Walk the waterfront to the pier. Kaito ferry notices matter; Signal No. 8 stops them.
- Hiking: confirm the route and the bus back. Water and a hat. High Island has its own page.
- Not hiking: a loop of the town and a cold drink already beats another mall.

Do I have to eat seafood?
No. Cafes and noodle shops sit by the pier. Seafood streets post market prices — Saturday nights run high for visitors. A bun on the pier in the wind is a correct use of Sai Kung too.
