North Point: the tram runs through Chun Yeung Street market
North Point on the Island: Chun Yeung Street market, with the tram running between stalls. A local breakfast explains the city better than a waterfront mall.
Notes dated 2026-09
North Point is not on the tourist-board poster. The tram on Chun Yeung Street runs between vegetable and fish stalls — a working Island East market. You go to watch how the city buys breakfast, not to stand on a mark.
How to go
- Island line to North Point, then Chun Yeung Street.
- Tram along King’s Road / Chun Yeung Street; pay $3.30 at the front when you leave.
How to walk it
- Give way to people buying food, and to the tram. Do not stand on the rails for a photo.
- Cha chaan tengs on King’s Road. Order a set breakfast.
- For the water: North Point ferry pier, then tram or MTR onward.
Questions
When is Chun Yeung Street a market?
Morning into midday is the full market. It thins in the afternoon. Go late and you get the tram and a normal street.
