Three days: Kowloon, the Island, then leave the postcard

A three-day sketch: Kowloon waterfront and Temple Street; Island tram and Sheung Wan or North Point; day three Sai Kung, Cheung Chau, or Castle Peak Bay — pick by weather.

Notes dated 2026-09

Day 1 · Kowloon

  • TST promenade and Star Ferry for the harbour — once is enough.
  • A cha chaan teng or a Jordan halal kitchen.
  • Temple Street after dark.

Day 2 · the Island

  • Cross the harbour, then the tram; pay when you alight.
  • Walk Sheung Wan, or go early to Chun Yeung Street market in North Point.
  • Rain: Causeway Bay indoor malls.

Day 3 · pick one, not three

  • Clear and you want water: Cheung Chau (last ferry) or Sai Kung.
  • Want a swim, and you are in or willing to reach Tuen Mun: Castle Peak Bay.
  • Want a hike and it is not a rainstorm: Dragon’s Back. Carry water.
  • Spend less and skip the wind: Sham Shui Po.

Questions

Where should I stay for this?

TST or Jordan waste the least motion. Tuen Mun is closer if day three is Castle Peak Bay. Do not change hotels every night.
